As a matter of fact, Budapest clinched the right to host the tournament way back in 2017. This was when they were granted permission to organize the 17th edition of the prestigious event by the World Aquatics unanimously with the General Congress. Soon after Budapest was declared as the host, the President of World Aquatics heaped praises on the choice of venue.
