The cause of the fire at the Paris Olympics aquatic training center construction site is still being investigated. The incident occurred amid ongoing protests in the aftermath of the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old during a traffic stop in the Nanterre suburb. At this point, it is unclear whether the fire was directly related to the protests or was an isolated incident. Authorities and other parties will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire and any potential factors that contributed to it. During the protests, buses parked near the Aubervilliers aquatic center were deliberately set on fire, according to SOLIDEO, the company in charge of the Games’ infrastructure.
