The Equestrian Hotel in Ocala, Florida opened up in the summer of 2021, and since then, has been a constant site for affluent getaways.

The hotel is a part of the 380-acre World Equestrian Centre, and is the picture of opulence, costing about $800 million. It has a total of 248 rooms, 7 restaurants, an in-house sommelier, and a spa. Being associated with the World Equestrian Centre, there are also weekly equestrian competitions to revel in. Sounds like a dream stay, right? This is where Ryan Lochte and his family decided to spend Mother’s Day.

Lochte, and his gorgeous wife, Kayla Ray Reid, have made a sweet family together. The couple has two children, Caiden Zane and Liv Rae, and soon, their third child is on the way, due in June. Lochte clearly wanted to do something special for his life partner and soon-to-be mother of three.

As a Mother’s day celebration, the family decided to spend time at the Equestrian Hotel located in the World Equestrian Centre in Ocala. On his Instagram stories, Lochte re-posted some videos that his wife had shared on her Instagram account. The videos showed the family sharing some intimate moments together, and spending some quality time at the lavish property, relaxing at the poolside.

A rocky mother-son relationship

According to an article by The Daily Mail, the 12-time Olympic medalist once revealed during a 2020 interview that he was estranged from his mother. The alienation was the result of strife between the two, which began when his mother said some ‘very hurtful’ things to him before he was expecting his first child. Lochte revealed that they had been estranged for years.

Lochte revealed that after he broke the news to his mother, that she was going to be a grandma, she said some hurtful things, and didn’t apologize feeling that she was not obligated to. Ryan Lochte also shared that he and his mother had a sensitive relationship ever since his mother and his father got divorced, and his father later re-married. While it is heartbreaking to know that Lochte is not close to his mother, it is refreshing to see the way he has honored his wife and his family.
