The career of Sha’Carri Richardson has been eventful overall. From bans to shocking triumphs and becoming the seventh-fastest woman in the world, she has had a rollercoaster career. But recently, she had a setback at the World Championships in Oregon. Expected to perform, Richardson failed to advance to the final round of the race. Disappointed with the outcome, fans got on her bandwagon.

But as she paves the way for her comeback, she delivered a cryptic response on Twitter, stating her ambitions for the Spitzen Leichtathletik meet at the Stadion Allmend in Lucerne. As a fan posted a tweet on how excited they are to see her imminent return, she downplayed the hype. She stated that the only reason she considered a comeback was to free herself from getting fined.

Sha’Carri Richardson to raise the roof?

Riding high on form, Richardson failed to make it to the Kip Keino Classic World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet in Nairobi. Nonetheless, she withdrew from the event with no explanation.

Seeing her return, a fan was unable to contain his excitement and welcomed her arrival with a tweet, “Can’t Wait To See Richardson Run Tomorrow I Know She About To Pull Something Special Out The Bag For Us We Been Waiting For Her To Get Back On The Track Forever.

To this, Richardson replied“Lmfaoo I didn’t say all that. I’m just here so I don’t get fined.” Although she took some time after her ban, things finally looked rosy for the 22-year-old. However, the World Championships became a disappointment. Not able to reach the top, Richardson failed to make it to the team. Hence, the latest meet would see her competing against Elaine Thompson-Herah and other superstars.

“I Wish I Never Did This”- Sha’Carri Richardson Opens Up on Not Having a Choice at Her Lowest Point

In 2022, Richardson has improved her times from last year. She scored a significant victory by securing second place, behind Elaine. Often having trouble handling the media, Richardson raced off the room and preferred to keep silent in her post-race interviews. Looking at her times in 2022, she might hope to return to winning ways.

Consistency is the key

The only point left for her to prove is the consistency in her timings. Sometimes, she produces rather stunning feats on track; while sometimes, she cannot replicate those standards. In 2022, she had a personal best of 10.85. Competing against the likes of Elaine, and the 2013 World Championships silver medallist Murielle Ahoure-Demps, will be a demanding task.

The takeaway would probably be about her mindset heading to the race. If she is in the right frame of mind, Richardson can do wonders. But, if she is not, all hell breaks loose.
