And this is exactly what Lil Baby, the rap star, and a renowned track & field star have struggled with. While the two of them might not have a lot in common, this is something he does have in common with Sha’Carri Richardson. The athlete has also struggled with mental health issues in the past.

Lil Baby shot to fame in the year 2017, following the release of his mixtape Perfect Timing. And while that might sound great, appearances can be sometimes deceptive. Lil Baby has since then come forward to reveal how his sudden fame catapulted him into a depressive state, and Sha’Carri Richardson seems to relate.

Sha’Carri Richardson empathizes with Lil Baby

Recently, Sha’Carri Richardson shared a video on her Instagram stories, where Lil Baby is discussing his mental health difficulties in an interview. Along with the video, Richardson wrote in her stories, “The part that the money, the fame, or the fans don’t prepare you for”. Like Lil Baby, Richardson has also struggled with her mental health in the past.

Lil Baby was on The Experience podcast with Big Loon, when he talked about his problems. On the podcast, Lil Baby revealed, “Yeah. There’s a long time [where] I wasn’t happy, but now I’m finally in a stage where I can wake up and be happy.” The reason behind these struggles was that it was really hard for Lil Baby to adjust when his life suddenly changed, in a fraction of a time. He said, “I had a lot of shit I was going through…”

This is very similar to what Sha’Carri Richardson also went through at a point in time. There were some life changes that she struggled with as well, which brought on a dark period in her career.

Richardson’s hardships in the past

Sha’Carri Richardson was banned from participating in the Tokyo Olympics after she tested positive for marijuana. Richardson cited mental health reasons for her behavior. She also revealed that she had recently lost her mother, and it was a way for her to deal with the anxiety and the pain. Being in the public eye is never easy, and clearly, Richardson understands the effect it can have on a person. Which is probably why she is empathetic with what Lil Baby has gone through.
