Initially clearing heights smoothly, he hit a snag at 5.85 meters, failing twice and putting himself in a precarious position. The pressure mounted as his rival, Sam Kendricks, performed flawlessly, adding to the intensity of the competition. After skipping one height, Duplantis seemed to lose focus when he attempted to clear 5.85 meters again.
