Amidst responding to numerous questions in his typical Noah Lyles style, one question stood out. A fan asked the World Champion, “What’s your favorite song at the moment?” Instead of responding with words, he posted a picture of himself mid-air, exuberantly celebrating on the track at the NYC Grand Prix.

He was dressed in a blue Adidas tracksuit and gave a shout-out to the competitor brand, Nike’s $60 million rapper, Travis Scott. The accompanying track was “Travis Scott – FE!N ft. Playboi Carti.” The picture was a nostalgic throwback for many, and the song surprisingly complemented the vibe it conveyed.

Why the NYC Grand Prix was a significant moment

Lyles made a significant splash at the NYC Grand Prix, which took place in 2023. During the event, he completed the 200m race in under 20 seconds for the 34th time in his career, a feat that tied him with the legendary Usain Bolt for the most sub-20 second 200m races in history.

Lyles clocked in at 19.83 seconds at Icahn Stadium, leaving Issam Asinga, who finished second with a time of 20.25, and Elijah Morrow, who came in third at 20.30, in his wake.
