“You My Lil Crybaby”: Sha’Carri Richardson Gets Emotional While Sharing Special Meet and Greet Moment With Young Fan

They say never meet your heroes. And yet, that’s all every human being ever wants. Having a tête-à-tête with your idol is an emotional journey, and an inspiring one as well. And when your favorite star is the track and field icon, Sha’Carri Richardson, why wouldn’t one want to rush to meet this inspiring young woman who has taken the track world by storm?

Recently, Sha’Carri Richardson shocked her fans by announcing a meet and greet for the people of Los Angeles. It is no surprise that fans went gaga over the news. Well, the meet and greet just took place, and from the looks of some of the pictures Richardson has shared, it went perfectly.

An Instagram post by Richardson posted a day ago, created quite a buzz amongst her fans. Richardson announced that people in Los Angeles could come and meet her. Seeing this as a once-in-a-lifetime kind of a chance, many flocked to the venue to get a glimpse of the track star, and also hoping to exchange a few words with the sprinter.

Sha’Carri Richardson also posted some photos with her fans on her Instagram stories, and there was a recurring subject in these photos. A young girl, who had piqued Richardson’s interest, featured on the Kip Keino Classic 200m winner’s updates multiple times. A collage of Richardson and the young fan was shared by the latter herself, with which she wrote, “Me crying today was so worth it “crybaby”. I still can’t believe it. The little conversation we had seemed like a lifetime of advice.”

To this, the track star wrote, “you my lil crybaby now Queen!!!” Richardson then shared two videos, one in which she was talking to her teenage fan and another one in which Sha’Carri and the young fan featured together. From the videos and other photos, it was evident that Richardson has immense love and respect for all her supporters. The same was confirmed by a private blogger, who had met Sha’Carri Richardson at the Kip Keino Classic.

Justin Lagat is a columnist who runs a private blog with the name Run Blog Run. Recently, Lagat had the pleasure of encountering Richardson during her participation in the Kip Keino Classic, 2023. In his blog, the words used by Lagat to describe Richardson were: Humble, cheerful, down to earth, kind, understanding, and easygoing. What was surprising was that Lagat was actually taken aback by just how different Richardson was from the way she had been portrayed in general.

Lagat saw Sha’Carri Richardson many times on different occasions. He described each meeting as her being respectful, nice, and down to make a conversation with him, and even patiently taking selfies with all her fans without getting frustrated. Lagat revealed that Richardson was someone who wanted to make new friends everywhere she went, and her interaction with her fellow athletes was respectful as well.

Everyone knows there has been a plethora of controversy surrounding the rising star. But perhaps it is time that we move forward from the past and start looking at Richardson for the person that she is, which is a smart and caring individual, who is talented enough to be one of the fastest women on earth right now.
