During his trip to Cambodia, he recalled the time when he ate tarantulas. After seeing the dish on the menu, Hawk didn’t think otherwise and went forward with the dish. To several people, it may sound gross, but Hawk wanted to see what all the fuss was about!

Tony Hawk eats a tarantula

The legendary skateboarder opened up on his visit to the country while wanting to try out new dishes. Hence, with the delightful menu in front of him, he couldn’t resist it.

“That was in Cambodia. It just tasted like Twigs. It was a little squishy. Like I did it very quickly. I didn’t wanna savor it. My wife and I went to this restaurant, they had it in the menu, and I was like I’m gonna do it. And they brought out a tarantula. A live one. It was crawling around. They were already flash-fried,” said Hawk.

Hawk spoke about trying scorpions before, as eating tarantulas was on his wishlist. While he did not want to play with it, he wanted to taste it to see what it was like. By the looks of it, he enjoyed his meal. So what do normal days look like for Hawk?

Hawk’s food choices

Not all days are like this for Hawk. Apart from relaxing on his usual days, he follows a strict routine. He wakes up at 6.30 am while helping his wife out to send the kids to school. Being a fit skateboarder, it is astonishing to see him going strong while being in his 50s. Having smoothies, eggs, and avocadoes is usual for him that helps to keep him fit. In the same way, he loves burgers, burritos, that he loves to have while hitting the gym and practicing with his skateboard.

One thing that can be associated with Hawk is his love for traveling. He attends many countries like Shanghai, Montreal, Sao Paulo, Paris, and many other cities for his performances. As Cambodia is known for its variety of dishes, Hawk must have a good time trying out new platters.
