In one of the 2019 French Open post-match interviews, Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem had to leave the conference room for Serena’s press conference. Dominic was obviously furious with the treatment. However, when the reporter asked Lindsey Vonn if it was rude, she replied, “I didn’t see it so I don’t know, but she is the queen.”

Lindsey further added, “I think she is bada**, and she can probably say whatever she wants.”
Well, clearly she knows a lot about how Serena functions and perhaps the incident was less of a surprise to her. Additionally, from her reaction, it seemed like a pretty normal thing.

Talking to SI, Serena said, “I always try to make a statement when I walk out on the court—to be bold and to be unique and to kind of transcend. I always try to send the message of just being confident and being fierce.”

SI described Vonn as the “perfect mix of elegant and edgy.” However, Vonn and Williams both have been the heart and soul of modern sports world. Without them, it’s impossible to imagine skiing and tennis the way it is today.
