The real excitement amongst fans about the FIS women’s ski world cup is because of the steaming contest going on between the world number one Mikaela Shiffrin and the Beijing Winter Olympic champion Petra Vlhova. However, the results of today’s giant slalom have given both the rivals a huge setback in their quest to be the world number one.
In the first super-G event Mikaela finished second, but after that she hasn’t quite played as per her standards. Although she managed to keep her overall lead in the world cup standings, but Petra Vlhova is still hunting the ranking quite vigorously.

In Shiffrin vs Vlhova’s battle, Katharina Liensberger clenched the victory
When the top contenders for the world cup title were competing aggressively; the Austrian skier Katharina Liensberger took away the victory. Mikaela Shiffrin finished at ninth place while her rival Petra Vlhova finished fourth.
