Chloe Kim opens up on tackling negative comments
After winning the gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, she repeated the feat of winning yet another gold medal. The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics saw her retain her half-pipe snowboarding medal to the delight of the fans. However, when she was young, she felt disappointed with some of the hate comments. Aimed to increase coverage for women in sports, the four athletes got together to discuss their opinions in the video. Thus, Kim shared her experiences and how she cried in her room after winning competitions.

“Like, my parents have walked in on me crying myself to sleep, every time I won a contest because it just sucked. I hated that feeling so much. At the end of it all, I just had to like, stop looking. Like I had to stop looking for that negativity and just continue to surround myself with positivity and good people,” said Kim.

Opening up on platforms has helped her in a way that she is tackling the problem right now. The sensational Kim is surrounding herself with more positive people and that is working out for her as she mentions in the video.
“But I mean, I can see it getting better for me, at least like, just been getting much more support by telling my story, right? Like, kind of going back to being authentic. Being yourself and just like sharing your story. Not hiding anything. Not fitting that mold has helped a lot with, you know, just dealing with people in general,” said Kim.
