“I’ve so much respect for Simone in the way she spoke about her struggles, I think all athletes just appreciated her talking the way she did, it gave people a really good glimpse into what our lives are really like. Most athletes don’t speak up, so to see her to do it was amazing. She’s my favourite athlete and the best in the world.”

When injury troubles creep in for athletes, it not only takes a lot of time to recover but can also mentally drain the person. With the long list of injuries that she had in her career, it’s surely taken a lot for her to get back to the best of her abilities. She fractured her heel a year back and understandably, the road to recovery has not been an easy one.

Notably, she will compete in the slopestyle and Big Air events in China. Both these events are very dangerous as it takes a toll on the human body and mind. Regardless, Ormerod will hope to perform remarkably well in this year’s Winter Olympics and return home, safe and sound, with a medal to show off as well.
