Travis Scott, the famous American rapper, and Shaun White, the accomplished Snowboarder, just graced The Gateway with their presence. They appeared during the amateur snowboarding competition, known as the Grit Rail Jam. It is a competition that is open to all, and anyone can participate. The Grit Rail Jam was presented by the Utah Sports Commission and took place at the Olympic Legacy Plaza at The Gateway.

The event was organized by Jeremy Jones in partnership with Scott. Travis Scott, the ex-husband of socialite and businesswoman Kylie Jenner, gave a guest appearance. Scott was present there with his friend and Olympic-level snowboarder Shaun White.

In an Instagram video posted by the official handle of X Games, the pair is seen encouraging the amateur snowboarders about to compete. They were called on the make-shift stage to encourage the finalists. In the video, the emcee seems to have asked Scott to show off his snowboarding skills, to which Scott refused. The emcee is then heard saying, “What if Shaun can talk you into it?”

Scott’s swift reply to this was, “He can’t talk me into it.” The emcee then asked White about the event, saying, “You hit the rails, Shaun?” To which Shaun White replied saying, “I just… respect all the riders here, ’cause that was crazy!” Finally, Travis Scott amped up the atmosphere and cheered the contestants saying, “It’s time we see the savage of all the savages. It’s time to let it go right now. Everybody… Let’s… KICK IT UP!”

It is not strange for the emcee to ask Scott to show off his snowboarding skills. Neither is it strange for him to think that Shaun White could get him to do it. In fact, White and Scott went snowboarding years ago, and White showed the rapper some tricks on the slopes.

Scott gets snowboarding lessons from an Olympic gold medalist

Shaun White and Travis Scott hanging out together is not something that one would expect to happen. But in the year 2021, both of them went snowboarding together. Scott got lessons from the X Games legend White himself. The video of White teaching his friend and protege some insane moves, was shared all across Twitter.

White videographed Scott’s progress from start to finish and was especially proud when Travis Scott landed a jump perfectly. Needless to say, Scott was pretty excited about the occurrence as well. Even Scott took to Instagram to say that he was “overly hyped” about the entire thing. This makes sense, considering the fact that it’s not every day you get snowboarding lessons from a certified Olympian.
