Putting her talents on display in Beijing, Kim is once again the favorite to win the competition. Kim began snowboarding at 4, and dazzled her way to her first Olympic Games at Pyeongchang. She scored 93.75 in her first run, which was enough for her to win the gold medal. A 1080 trick helped her to achieve a great score. Remarkably, she landed two 1080 tricks in her final round that took her score to a staggering 98.25. Now 17, she revealed how she could have made it to the Olympics at 13 itself, had she taken part in Russia.

During the Dew Tour of the Olympic qualifications, she scored 96.00 points in her rounds. She performed a perfect third run to get the victory. The talented snowboarder talked about the pressures leading to her last run and hopes to perform better in the future.

“That was so stressful. I hate when I’m in that situation when it comes to the third and final run. Just putting myself in those high-stress situations, especially with the Olympics coming up is pretty important. So, happy I was able to pull through,” said Kim.
