The three-time Olympic gold medalist talked about competing at the highest level while looking to stay and be fit. With four Olympic appearances, he is now looking to appear in his fifth Olympics. Hence, things are getting tight at the top. Although he had a weak run in the first round, he performed admirably well, showcasing his repertoire of tricks. Moreover, he loves to see how new competitors are performing tough tricks like the triple cork that White did not land in his first attempt.

“I think it was 2013 when I tried my first triple. It didn’t go well. I would say I’ve fallen back too far but yeah, there’s a little bit of people you know, took in advance and now I’m kind of like you know seeing where I want to be,” said White.

With White now being 35 years old, age is catching up to him. He won many accolades and trophies in his career. But, he understood his body is not the way it was before and intends on retiring after the 2022 Winter Olympics.

“Because my whole life I’ve kind of been looked at as somewhat superhuman because I do these things. And a lot of people have always come up to me and just [been] like, ‘I don’t know how he does it.’ And I’ve prided myself on being that individual. And man, realizing and admitting to myself and everyone else, ‘Yeah I’m human.’ It’s taken a toll,” said White.
