America woke up to one of the most distressing news in recent times. Around 19 children and two adults lost their lives after an 18-year-old gunman opened fire at the Robb Elementary School, Uvalde, Texas. Meanwhile, the incident has caused massive outrage and anguish amongst people. Although the law enforcement officers shot down the gunman, but could not save the lives of many children. Notably, sports personalities voiced their opinions on the repentance of this incident, with soccer star Alex Morgan penning her heartfelt tribute to the victims.

Athletes like Michael Johnson, Lindsey Vonn, and Simone Biles reacted to the unsavory incident. They posted their reactions on social media. A dark day in the history of America.
Alex Morgan stunned at the incident
Morgan, who now plays for the San Diego Wave, expressed her disappointment on Twitter, stating how heartbroken she is with the incident. “I’m sickened by what’s just happened to these children. I’m absolutely heartbroken,” mentioned Morgan on her Twitter page. Meanwhile, Michael Johnson spoke about his feelings about the shooting incident and was deeply shocked.

“14 families lost their innocent children today. This is now a typical day in America. Think about that. And it doesn’t have to be this way. Think about why it is! And think about what you can do about it,” talked Johnson and stated how this is becoming a regular occurrence. Similarly, ten people lost their lives in a mass shooting incident at a grocery store in Buffalo as incidents are rising.

Moreover, Golden State Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, gave a passionate rant about these problems and questioned the country’s higher-ups about the solutions to this problem.

Biles and Vonn left heartbroken
Legendary gymnast Simone Biles and Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn shared a video of Kerr’s powerful message, questioning the laws in the country. To sum up, the shocking incident has left a lot of questions to be answered. According to reports from BBC, the gunman carried a handgun, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and high-capacity magazines. In the meantime, they also reported the teenager to have shot his grandmother before the incident.
