Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg not only is a media giant but also a sporting fanatic. While everyone is aware of his love for combat sports, only a few know about his interest in surfing. Like Meta has a knack for launching a new update every once in a while, its maker has a fondness for surfing treacherous waves intermittently. Interestingly, paddling into the ocean helps Zuckerberg stay focused.

In 2022, the Eye of Sauron opened up about the reasons he surfs every morning. Apparently, the sport serves Zuckerberg as a coping mechanism.

Surfing helps Mark Zuckerberg to stay focused

Zuckerberg surfs every morning right before he indulges in his complicated work algorithms, reports the New York Post. Now obviously being an IT giant comes with a casket full of responsibilities. Hence, the CEO “struggles to cope with getting punched by bad news”. To make sure that he doesn’t “mess something up” he goes out into the sea to surf his stress away.

Moreover, he stated, “when you’re out there in the water, it’s pretty hard to focus on anything else”. Interestingly, the Harvard alumni rides a hydrofoil board that helps him surf above the water.

Zuckerberg surfed with a U.S. flag in his hand

On 4th July 2021, the Meta CEO posted a video of himself on his Instagram handle. In the video, Zuckerberg is wakeboarding into the sea while holding the US flag in his hand. Moreover, the video is coupled with the John Denver song ‘Country Roads’. He further captioned the post by writing, “Happy July 4th!“.

Not just that, the Meta founder can often be spotted in Hawaii spending quality time with his family. And while in Hawaii, he never misses any opportunity to set his surfing gear into the ocean and paddle towards the waves. Zukerberg indeed has some praise-worthy surfing skills, don’t you think?
