Over the past few years, as surfing became one of the most popular sports, the accidents associated with it became more predominant. Wipeouts, shark attacks, and whetted reefs are just a few examples of how brutally a paddling spree can end. Likewise, recently, a 46-year-old surfing enthusiast from Hawaii fell prey to one of the most ferocious accidents and got severely lacerated.

Canoe’s surf break, located in Waikiki on Kalakaua Ave, Honolulu, is considered one of the safest surfing spots in Hawaii. The surf break has a sandy bottom and few coral heads, hence it is a staunch surfing destination for beginners. However, the safest surfing destination reported a multitude of accident in recent times. On the same token, the 46-year-old surfer got into an accident while catching waves at Waikiki and ended up getting injured.

The surfing spree turned into a terrifying episode

On Sunday, 7th May, the Hawaiian surfer was paddling at Canoe surf break to catch some barrels. However, while advancing toward the wave, the 46-year-old fell from his surfboard and hit his head on the board. As per the report of Hawaii News Now, the onlookers and fellow surfers immediately paddled toward the man and assisted him to the safety of the shore.

Nonetheless, the surfer got some serious injuries and was immediately transferred to the emergency room with the help of (Honolulu Emergency Medical Service) EMS-administered advanced life support. Though he suffered from some severe lesions, the officials asserted that the man is now recovering from the accident.

Likewise, last month, a 58-year-old surfer became a victim of a ferocious shark attack in Waikiki and got some serious contusions on his right foot.

Man suffers from a shark bite while surfing in Hawaiian waters

On 9th April, the 58-year-old man was surfing in Waikiki, Honolulu, when he was attacked by an 8-foot tiger shark. The ocean’s predator bit on his right leg and left a series of horrifying abrasions on his foot. Following this, the EMS services were alerted, and a team of paramedics transferred the man to a nearby hospital.

Since then, the Honolulu Ocean Safety continues to patrol the waters of Kewalo Basin and Ala Moana. Though the beaches and surf breaks in Honolulu promise to render thrill to their pursuers, they also harbor a series of dangers in their infinity, don’t you agree?
