The big azure ocean welcomes everyone who seeks solace in its waves. However, for the ones who do not know their way around the ocean, it may drown them in its infinity. That’s where the lifesavers come in. The surfers and the swimmers might be versed with the ocean, but the guards who save precious lives from the clutches of vicious waves are the real heroes. Once, an Australian lifeguard shared a rather terrifying experience from one of his rescue operations.

A year ago, in a YouTube episode, an Australia-based lifeguard, Trent Falson recalled a horrific rescue anecdote of his career, that apparently terrified him to his core.

Lifeguard recalls a horrifying Resuscitation

Lifesavers at Australia’s busiest and most popular Bondi Beach, document every rescue operation and share it on their YouTube channel. Likewise, in one of the 2021 episodes of BondiRescue, lifeguard, Trent Falson was seen recalling the most dangerous resuscitation of his career.

In the video, a man and a woman swimmer were drowning in the ocean, while Trent was surfing paddling his way toward them. As soon as Falson reached their proximity, he noticed the man and the woman were unconscious and floating face down. Sharing his experience, Trent said, “what I saw next just you know absolutely shocked me to the core”.

The lifeguards then rescued the pair from the vicious waves and immediately performed CPR on them. However, the woman’s life was saved but the man died on the spot. A lifeguard from the team of rescuers even said, “it’s surreal having someone die at your hands”.

The rescue team at Bondi Beach comprises professional lifeguards, who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. From conducting rescue operations to performing resuscitation, the Bondi lifeguards have covered it all. In fact, the team documents every rescue operation, in order to share it on their YouTube handle. The reason behind documenting the rescues is to promote more awareness regarding safety concerns.

Interestingly, the Bondi Rescue is also regarded as “Australia’s real-life Baywatch!”. The lifesavers through their safety prompts are really doing a great job.
