A couple of years back, Hamilton opened up about his struggles with understanding the in and outs of his daughters’ minds. The Waterman revealed the complications he has to face sometimes as a parent.

Laird Hamilton’s take on parenting

In 2020, Laird Hamilton sat down with Rich Roll to discuss a diverse set of topics about the surfer’s personal and professional fronts. Hamilton profoundly chatted about everything the host laid on the table. At one point, the host asked the waterman about what it’s like to parent three daughters. As per the podcast, Laird finds it a bit complicated to deal with the children while they are growing up.

The 58-year-old elaborated on his parenting by saying, “you’re not gonna see the fruits of your work until they leave”. The surfer added, “the thing that they’re gonna turn into is gonna come after, it’s gonna come late”. The host also conceded with Hamilton’s interesting take on raising children.

Laird further added, “you’re gonna wish you would get to reap the rewards of it, but there’s none of that”. Clearly, Hamilton has experienced every in and out of what it’s like to raise a child, and according to him, parenting is not child’s play.

All about Hamilton’s daughters

Laird Hamilton is the father of three daughters. The surfer shares his 27-year-old, who is the eldest daughter, Izabella Hamilton with his first wife, Maria Souza. With his second wife, Gabrielle Reece, who also is a professional Volleyball player, the surfer shares two daughters. The elder of the two is 19 and her name is Reece Viola Hamilton. The youngest of the three is 14 and her name is Broody Jo Hamilton.

For Hamilton, although parenting is complicated task, the surfer loves his children dearly. When it comes to his family, the surfer’s Instagram speaks volumes. Laird, truly is a staunch family man.
