Similarly, West Carrollton in Ohio has sanctioned a prospective Whitewater park. The project was taken up in 2022, when undergoing a study of the Great Miami River dynamics. In 2023, the initiative received hefty encouragement in the form of federal funding. 

In a recent article by Dayton News and Weather, the exciting features of the park were unleashed. The $3 million investment is surely not going to disappoint the citizens. Here’s how the project will be set about.

According to the article, the city of West Carrollton is all set to flaunt its million-dollar water park, after the official authorities received a significant amount from the government. Moving forward with the plan, the board members and community delegates assembled at the West Carrollton Civic Center to discuss the future steps for the Whitewater Park project. 

It was deduced that the park shall be constructed around the I-75, on the Great Miami River. Moreover, the officials schematized to efficiently handle the massive funding to bring about essential developments in the plan. “Their goal is to make West Carrollton a destination for recreation,” the source revealed.

Additionally, the planners are also aiming to influence outside visitors from all over the state and country to witness the exciting addition to Ohio. The state-of-the-art project is expected to be open to visitors in 2030. 

Why was West Carrollton chosen for the project? 

As per the sources, only the city’s stretch of the Great Miami River was suitable for boating and other adventure activities. This was due to its comparably sufficient water pool and vertical elevations to sustain river surfing and canoe channels.

Last year, the plan was under the “preliminary feasibility” phase while this year marks the full-blown construction and investment process. “We will focus on creating the best whitewater experience to match our budgetary considerations,” said Mike Lucking, Director of Economic Development. On a similar note, Perth is also soon going to be landmarked for one of the finest surfing destinations in the world.
