Moreover, the officials schematized to efficiently handle the massive funding to bring about essential developments in the plan. “Their goal is to make West Carrollton a destination for recreation,” the source revealed.

Besides that, the project will drive the scope of boating, kayaking, canoeing, and river surfing in its recreational mission. Additionally, the planners are also aiming to influence outside visitors from all over the state and country to witness the exciting addition to Ohio. The state-of-the-art project is expected to be open to visitors in 2030. 

Why was West Carrollton chosen for the project? 

As per the sources, only the city’s stretch of the Great Miami River was suitable for boating and other adventure activities. This was due to its comparably sufficient water pool and vertical elevations to sustain river surfing and canoe channels.

Last year, the plan was under the “preliminary feasibility” phase while this year marks the full-blown construction and investment process. “We will focus on creating the best whitewater experience to match our budgetary considerations,” said Mike Lucking, Director of Economic Development. On a similar note, Perth is also soon going to be landmarked for one of the finest surfing destinations in the world.
