The deep blue oceanic tarmac has a wave for everyone. Be it beginners or professionals, the sea paves the way for every pursuer who seeks solace in its infinity. However, while finding tranquility, some fall victim to the dangerous wipeouts, while others make it safely to the bank. Likewise, for a 16-year-old girl, a surfing spree became her biggest nightmare as she fell prey to the ferocious clutches of the turquoise water and almost lost her life.

A schoolgirl from Adelaide Australia was paddling at the beach on Wednesday when she slipped from her surfboard and ended up drowning in the ocean. Nevertheless, the surf instructor immediately pulled her out of the ocean and took her to the safety of the dry land. But was she able to survive?

A 16-year-old minor was airlifted after she immersed in the water during a surf lesson

As per the report of 9 News, on 8th March, an Adelaide-based school, Reynella East College organized a fun excursion for its students at the Middleton beach. A group of kids was taking private surf lessons at the beach at around 11:30 am when the accident took place.

Among the group was a 16-year-old girl who drowned in the ocean while paddling into the waves. However, her surf instructor charged toward her in a reflex and pulled her out of the sea. The instructor then performed CPR on the teen. Nonetheless, the emergency services were immediately called to the scene, and the paramedics tried to stabilize the teenager by resuscitation.

To everyone’s relief, the air ambulance arrived at Middleton beach and the girl was airlifted promptly and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition. Fortunately, as reported by 9 News, “The girl is still in a serious but stable condition here at the Royal Adelaide hospital”. The reporter further updated the spectators that, following the incident, the school provided surfing counseling to the parents. The reporter added, “Earlier this afternoon, the Reynella East College principal says staff and students who were at the scene were provided with immediate counseling support”.

In wake of the terrifying accident, the students will keep getting more support from the school management. It indeed was a near-death encounter for the young surfer. Though she fell prey to the brutal accident, she currently is in stable condition due to the on-time aid of her instructor and other paramedics.
