Skiing on the thick snow-covered alps sounds like a fun idea, right? Well, for the Seattle-based snowboarder, skiing in Washington’s Mt. Baker turned out to be vicious, as he fell into a tree while shredding down the mountain. However, a side country skier, Francis Zuber, came right on time and saved him from the snow blanket. Following this, the incident caught the attention of millions, and ski enthusiasts are left to ponder over the fatal consequences of a ski trip. One such spectator who praised Zuber’s moxie, is none other than Tennis star Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian.

On March 3rd, Zuber was skiing down Washington’s glacier-laden andesitic mountain called Mt. Baker with a friend. He was making a zig-zag trail between the trees when he noticed a snowboard sticking up out of the snow. The skier realized that someone had crashed into a tree, and got stuck in an upside-down position. Zuber then rescued the man following which, he received a swarm of praise from millions across the continents. However, the cheerer who took the front seat is the American entrepreneur and the co-founder of Reddit, Alexis Ohanian.

Recently, Ohanian hailed Zuber’s fortitude and penned a heartfelt message for the skier. He took to his Twitter handle and shared the extrication video that was shot on Zuber’s go-pro. Reddit’s executive chairman wrote, “This man is a HERO”.

He further narrated Zuber’s heroic rescue saga and wrote, “Francis Zuber‘s headcam shows him rescuing a snowboarder who was buried head down in deep powder at Mt. Baker, Washington!  Luckily, he spotted him as he almost passed him”.

Though it was one mind-bending skiing mishap, Zuber’s quick decision-making prowess and reflex action worked in the snowboarder’s favor and saved his life from the fatal consequences. Not just Alexis Ohanian, but millions from around the globe have nothing but applause for Zuber’s courageous prompt.
