Remember the adorable movie Moana? Just like the Disney Moana, real-life Moana Jones Wong also has a special relationship with the ocean. Her recent performance at the Backdoor Shootout is proof of the same. The way the surfer cuts through these pipelines can only be a consequence of some outrageous talent. It’s the Queen of the Pipeline era, and we’re all here for it.

Considering how good Moana Jones Wong is, it is not a surprise that surfing fans went crazy after watching her ride an awesome wave, in one of the best pipeline surfing moments ever. When a picture of her riding the wave popped up on Facebook, the comments started rolling in.

The Queen Conquers at Pipeline

Some people were debating whether it was the best pipeline ride ever or not. One fan wrote, “The pic say’s it all she’s got the drop, the stance, the head up, arm reaching, focussed on the section… the rest is Flame Fame…. brilliant!!! Now I’ve seen the Vid clip… Greatest charge congratulations!!! Moana !!!”

Many called her the Queen of the Pipeline. “Spectacular photo of an accomplished waterwomen. Definitely familiar with the wave,I see why Moana has the title,Queen of Pipe.” Another one wrote, “That’s why she’s the Queen of Pipe!!! 🏄‍♀️”

The community also loved the way Wong handled that wave. A comment read, “Love her ride style. Such a refined attack.” The Hawaiin’s performance is not a surprise, given her embellished pipeline career.

Moana Wong Jones and Her Affinity to Waves

Wong is considered to be one of the most celebrated Pipeline surfers of all time. She was admitted into the 2022 Billabong Pro Pipeline as a wild card entry. Not only this, but in the same event, she surpassed the Olympic winner Carissa Moore to win the event.

She also won the 2021 HIC Pipe Pro which was a Qualifying Series event. Wong has been participating in WSL events at Pipeline since 2014. The Queen of the Pipeline is definitely a decorated surfer, who deserves the name she has been given. Do you think her Pipeline surf was out of the world?
