The surfing community in any locale is mostly a closely-knit group, where local surfers brave the waves more frequently than others. This makes it difficult for outsiders to surf on such beaches. Therefore, the sport, dangerous as it is with the unpredictability of waves and the various injury risks involved, also involves some frequent violent brawls. One such incident recently took place, after a Brazilian surfer (allegedly) randomly attacked someone on the head. And seeing the same, the surfing community reacted strongly to it.

In a video shared by Sara Taylor, a random surfer is seen nearing up to her in the waters and hitting her on the head. And the fight did not end there as it proceeded to the beach. Here’s what happened.

While the man’s attack continued, Taylor’s friend Charlie started filming the incident, and the attacker turned towards him. This broke out an all-in-all brawl at the beach.

Several well-known surfers put forth their support

Several renowned surfers condemned the attack. Some even expressed their disgust at such surfers ruining the name of their beloved sport. Here’s what they said.

Filipe Toledo: “Im sorry that happens to you guys! Hope you guys are ok! Don’t stress with people with this kind of energy! They don’t last long, life will comeback to them ! But hey, if we can do whatever it is to find them we will! God bless and stay safe”

Mahina Maeda: “Unbelievable… Hope you two are okay. But on another note why didn’t ANY of the bystanders in the water paddle up to you and help you ????? If I was a man and another man hits a WOMAN. I would instantly go and help you”
