While everything was going immaculately well in the Oscars 2022. However, an incident between actor Will Smith and host Chris Rock shocked everyone. Initially, everyone thought it was all part of a skit. However, after Chris’ comment on Jada, Will Smith, walking onto the stage and slapping Chris all of that was real. Suddenly everyone was just ridiculously awkward, including Kelly Slater, who was backstage during the whole incident.

His two best buddies, Shaun White and Tony Hawk accompanied the surfing maestro Kelly Slater to the Oscars. Although the news about the three sports heroes at an entertainment award, now sounds a little weird but while they were on stage, everything was perfect. As for Kelly, from surfing to the red carpet has been an incredible journey.

Just like everyone’s initial reaction, Kelly Slater was backstage at the moment also thought of the incident as a part of the skit. However, soon he realized it was happening for real. He said, “I looked over and saw Will walking up there and I thought it was all part of a skit. I was sort of looking down and I heard the slap and looked up and I was like, whoa what just happened? And everyone went quiet. It was all very awkward.”
