Not the first, and probably not the last

The good news is that Armijo is out of danger, The bad news is that his ordeal is not completely over yet. Dillon Armijo will be discharged from the hospital soon, but he will have to undergo lengthy physical therapy before he can walk again. His mother, expressing her pride, said, “[Dillon has] done fantastic, considering all that he’s been through.” A GoFundMe campaign was started by the family to help meet the astronomical medical bills, and as of Thursday morning, it had raised over $17,800 of its $20,000 goal.

The community has rallied around the Armijo family, and it looks like the worst is over for them. Nonetheless, anyone planning to visit the sultry seas of Mexico must keep in mind that there could be sharks lurking underneath the surface of the water. Armijo’s is not the only incident that has come to light in this regard. In January this year, a 19-foot-long Great White shark decapacitated a diver in Benito Juárez in Sonora.
