It’s been two years since Kobe Bryant tragically passed away in a helicopter crash. He was one of the best players in the NBA, shooting his way to five NBA titles. Apart from his incredible skill set, his intangibles were preached to children at a very young age. Today, on the day of his remembrance, Michael Phelps posted a photo with the Black Mamba, along with Boomer, on Instagram.
The terrific Olympic swimmer was an ardent follower of Kobe and his game. It is fair to say, the duo put America on the map with their dominance in their respective sports.

Back on January 26th, 2020, Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others lost their lives in a tragic accident. Just when Bryant started enjoying his retirement period and coached Gianna to improve her basketball skills, tragedy struck. The news shocked fans and fraternity worldwide.
Today, on his second death anniversary, Phelps gave a heartwarming tribute to Kobe, sharing a picture of him and Boomer together. He captioned the posts with the famous hashtags #8 and #24; the iconic jersey numbers.

A tragic loss for everyone, Phelps and Kobe were the epitome of success in both their respective fields. Notably, while Kobe Bryant won his MVP in 2008, Phelps won eight Olympic gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Two legends in one frame, the world certainly misses Kobe, while thanking Phelps for this throwback.

Kobe tried to bring Phelps back from retirement
During the time when Bryant presented him with the Golden Goggles award, he shared the stage alongside Phelps as the duo rocked in their suits. Notably, the shooting guard tried to lure Phelps out of retirement.
“Would you like just one more time? Not me, you. You’re in much better shape than I am, dude,” said Bryant.

The irresistible bonding of Phelps and Bryant was incredible as he politely rejected any hints of coming back to swim in major competitions.
“No. No, no, no. I’d rather be sitting in the stands during the next one and watching all of you,” said Phelps.

Indeed, a funny exchange between two pillars of the sporting world. While Bryant’s death shook the world, his legacy remains intact and untarnished. He might be gone, but surely, he hasn’t and definitely won’t ever be forgotten.
