WATCH: “First for Me”- Michael Phelps Shows Off Butterfly Stroke in a 33-Meter Pool

It’s been some time since Michael Phelps retired from competitive swimming. At the end of the 2016 Rio Olympics, he bid goodbye to competitive swimming with 28 Olympic medals. Likewise, 23 of them were gold. Thus, Phelps is enjoying his time right now. He posted his fabled butterfly stroke as he hit a 33-meter pool. Speaking about how he never had tried a 33-meter pool, Phelps looked excited to be back in the water.

From the looks of it, the greatest swimmer of all time never looked like skipping a beat. Physically stunning even now, Phelps showcased the butterfly effect inside the pool.

Michael Phelps loves the 33-meter pool

Phelps asked whether people had tried the 33-meter pool by posting a video of himself, swimming the entire length. This was the first time he swam in a pool like this. Not able to decide on what made him love it, be it the temperature, distance, or view, Phelps certainly seemed to enjoy his time there. He jokingly spoke about his stoke being off. Phelps mentioned:

“Has anyone swam in a 33m pool? This was a first for me…. And I have to say- I think this is my favorite pool…period. Not sure if it’s bc of the distance, temp, or view! Me being me I’ve already dissected the video. My stroke is a litttttttle off.”

After posting the video, many famous swimmers commented on the post. Chase Kalisz remembered his time inside the swimming pool similar to this and commented under the video.

“Umm 33m warm-down pool post-June/July meet swims!? Well…I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t the correct length.”

Ryan Lochte gets into the act

Similarly, Ryan Lochte, who won 12 Olympic medals, remembered the time he spent in Charlotte where he trained inside a 33-meter pool. Hence, he posted his comment under the video. Lochte was an incredible swimmer and dominated the pool during his time.

“When I was training in Charlotte we trained in 33-meter pool,” mentioned Lochte.

Thus, Michael Phelps seemed to enjoy his time, stroking his way to glory. Even though he is retired, it is just incredible to see Phelps swim. The pureness of his strokes is just out of this world and he glided inside the water at the end of the video.
