Greatness is all about working towards the next goal once you achieve the previous one. Perhaps Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce learned that early in her career. From the early 2000s to the date, she has given enough moments to track and field to be cherished for a lifetime. However, going into the 2022 season, Shelly has a very special goal in her mind.
Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is one of the greatest sprinters of all time. With two Olympic golds and four world champion titles, her contribution to the track and field is simply unparalleled.

After the season opener 200m race at National Stadium, Shelly was looking quite positive. In the post-match interview, she said, “I am feeling good. Haven’t raced in a while.” While the fans were expecting an exciting battle between Shelly and Shericka Jackson, the latter didn’t show up for the race.
Sprint icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce says running a time in the region of 10.40 seconds over 100 metres is one of her motivations for this season.
She says she’s eager to lower her personal best.

Shedding light on her upcoming goals, Shelly said, “Well, listen 10.6 after having that season last year. That’s definitely opened a new door for me in terms of the dreams and goals that I am chasing. But in this season I am definitely looking forward to run 10.5 and possibly 10.4 because that’s the aim. And I think I am on my way to that. I just have to continue to trust that goal and I’ll just continue to put in work.”

A good start to the season
In the 200 meters season opener at Velocity Fest 11, the Jamaican track field legend finished second. With a time of 22.79 seconds, she was just behind the winner Anthonique Strachan, who scored a time of 22.55 seconds on the clock. While Natasha Morrison secured third place with 23.06 seconds.
