“You know how much you have gone through throughout your entire career and for people to talk down on you, for people to doubt you, to get your career records broken by other people, never win an NCAA title, never winning anything realistically. And then I just won the Olympics, like ages was a test to me it’s like my hard work my faith, my dedication, my driving it just was a cherry on the top.”

Besides receiving disappointments from the public, the sprinter also narrates some negative viewpoints on Netflix’s ‘Sprint,’ a documentary series showcasing some of the best track and field athletes of the U.S. in which the American sprinter is not a part. With the second season out last month, Masai’s criticism comes in respect to the focus on specific names rather than focusing on all in the industry today, with several inspiring stories remaining to be out in the world.
