In the meantime, Sha’Carri Richardson pulled out of the competition and did not give her reasons for her exclusion. Fans may argue that she must have provided competition for the Jamaican sprinter.

However, her form has been sketchy ever since she returned to the track. Chances of beating the Fraser-Pryce look slim but we go back to 2021 to see the onetime she actually finished in front of her.

How did Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce lose that race?
During the 2021 Wanda Diamond League meet in Gateshead, England, fans got to see the talented 100-meters sprinters on the track. Fraser-Pryce, Richardson, and British superstar Dina Asher-Smith. Remarkably, the Brit won the race sensationally by setting a time of 11.35 into a massive headwind of -3.1 m/sec. On the other hand, Richardson finished second with a time of 11.44.

That was one of the most interesting races in her life. Not only that, Fraser-Pryce did not stand on the podium as Marie-Jos?e Talou took home the bronze. This was one race for the Jamaican to forget as she settled for a fourth-place finish by setting a time of 11.51. The race started with Fraser-Pryce and Dina getting a great head start. But, Richardson crept back in the race.

Running on a wet track, the two-time Olympic gold medalist Fraser-Pryce started to lose ground, allowing her competitors to come back. Richardson pulled away in the second half of the race and scored a sensational second place. As for Asher-Smith, she celebrated a terrific gold medal performance in her homeland.

Fast forward to the 2022 Kip Keino Classic
That was the only time that Richardson defeated Fraser-Pryce. Since then, she has raised her level and had a terrific year after that. She set the third-fastest time late in that year with a time of 10.60 seconds. It is just unbelievable to see her competing at the highest level, consistently for years; and now, she set a time of 10.67 seconds in 2022.
