Track Icon Andre De Grasse Faces Shocking Setback at Prefontaine Classic 2022 Even With Season’s Best Performance

Freshly coming from a third-place finish at Birmingham Diamond League, the Canadian track star Andre De Grasse faced a huge setback at Prefontaine Classic 2022 today. The irony is that, despite scoring his fastest time of the season, he finished in the ninth place. Perhaps this only highlights one simple fact: the other guys were ridiculously faster than him.
In a lineup strictly dominated by American track superstars, De Grasse could not do much. However, the six-time Olympic medalist had indeed hoped for a better result. In fact, his last race of the season might have given him the push he needed, but all that can be said, as of now, is that perhaps it was not his day on the track.

Andre De Grasse finished ninth in the Prefontaine Classic 2022
With 10.21 seconds on the clock, the Canadian track star De Grasse finished ninth in the 100m at Prefontaine Classic 2022. This must be a huge setback for the Olympic 200m champion, given that he was amongst the top favorite before the race in Eugene. However, given that Eugene Diamond League featured some of the top contemporary track athletes, it must have been the toughest race of De Grasse’s career.
