“She Is an ICON”: Fans Celebrate as USC Honors a US Track Legend

When talking about the most elite sprinters in US history, Allyson Felix is a name that is bound to be taken. Felix already has the honor of being one of the most decorated track and field athletes of all time. Now, she has received another commendable honor, given to her by the University of Southen California. The title, and an extremely well-deserved one, comes after her retirement, and as a tribute to her spectacular career.

The announcement was posted on Twitter by Front Office Sports. Soon fans began congregating in the comments section to talk about how they were ecstatic for Felix.

Congrats Allyson! Beyond deserved 😤💥” Another fan commented, “Congratulations, what an awesome honor for an amazing lady 💗🌹” Someone else wrote, “Well deserved. We love you”

One fan described Allyson Felix as the greatest of all time. They commented, “Well Deserved, GOAT! Congrats”. Another fan also expressed that they thought she was the “Perfect choice!” for this tribute.

As an Angeleno, Allyson Felix’s ties with the University of Southern California are olden. From her childhood, she used to visit the University with her relatives. She also studied at USC and graduated from the University with a degree in Elementary Education.

Felix and USC Go Way Back

This is probably why the University of Southern California has decided to pay tribute to Felix by naming its track field after the athlete. The track and field are going to be named “Allyson Felix Field”.

The University hopes that when people come across the name, they will want to know about the life and career of Allyson Felix, despite her hardships and struggles. This is their way to ensure that the athlete’s name and work stay immortal. Even though Felix has now retired, she has left her mark on the minds of the people. This delightful honor by USC must have been a most welcome one.
