

Wisconsin’s volleyball team did not meet the expectations in the last Big Ten Championships 2023. However, the Badgers are going strong at the ongoing NCAA Tournament. All the credit for performing exceptionally well on the court goes to the collaborative efforts of the players on the team. They are getting recognition for incredible performances and are honored with various accolades.
Recently, one of the key players on the team has been awarded the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball Team honor for her remarkable moves that she added to make the match one of a kind.

Wisconsin Badgers’ libero shines in academics
Julia Orzol, aka Badger’s libero, has been again named the 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball team. Congratulating Julia for her second All District NCAA took to its Twitter to express their joy. They pinned, “One word. Grateful. A junior Libero on the Wisconsin Badgers’ volleyball team is selected for the accolade by College Sports communicators who recognize the top student-athletes in the entire nation. Julia is honored with this prestigious accolade for her remarkable performance on the court and in the classroom.
In the same tweet, Julia Orzol said, ” I feel grateful… The standards we set in the gym apply to my classroom. This program contributes a lot to this, and the people who are there around me inspire me.” Eventually, Julia led the team with an average of 0.32 aces per set and recorded a career-high four aces in the match against Ohio State. But she was not always a libero from always.

Julia’s remarkable transition
Julia Orzol, libero on No. 3 Wisconsin Badgers, transitioned from outside hitter to libero this season. 6-foot, three-year starter features in 33 matches and 115 sets, including 27 as libero and six as an outside hitter this season. The transition favored Julia, who currently ranks first on the Wisconsin Badger’s team with a record of 3.52 digs per set and double-figure digs in the last 27 showdowns.

Julia’s excellence on the court can be estimated because this is her second time getting the same award. Last year, she grabbed the honor as an outside hitter by putting up impressive numbers. Julia has accumulated an average 3.93 CGPA in business and an academic major. But Will the similar excellence be on display on the court in the upcoming showdown against the Texas Longhorns?
