Norwegian athlete sent back from Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

Tandrevold was on her way to finishing on the podium at the Zhangjiakou Biathlon Center, but lost her way in the race because of exhaustion. As other athletes went past her just ahead of the finish line, the 25-year-old fell down, just as she crossed the finish line at the Olympics.?

Paramedics rushed to the spot, and adequate medical treatment was provided. She expressed her disappointment as she talked about not being able to achieve her Olympic dream.?

“As it is now, it has been decided that I will not be allowed to go any more distances in the Olympics due to health reasons. I am very sad, my heart is broken. I had one of my best days at work until it suddenly became the worst,said Tandrevold.

Heart condition may be a cause of concern

Tandrevold had an irregular heart rhythm while racing back in 2017 and 2021 before. Given her history with the condition, her medical team has decided not to take any risks and she’ll be heading back from China as soon as possible.?
