There are hardly a few athletes who can claim legendary status at the age of 22. Armand Duplantis is already there. He created yet another world record with a jump of 6.20 meters in the pole vault competition. Ironically, he broke his own world record in Belgrade, the same venue where he broke the 6.19m barrier. Hence, he is cementing himself as one of the greatest pole vaulters in the sport’s history.
Still, to say, he has a long way to go but the Tokyo Olympics 2020 gold medalist is going places with his performances.

Armand Duplantis creates another world record
With the gold medal already secured, Duplantis wanted to break the world record in his return to the Stark Arena. After two unsuccessful attempts to create history, he achieved success in his final attempt. Back on March 7th, he created the 6.19 world record in the same venue. Thus, he took one centimeter further and looks to challenge himself to reach greater heights. Duplantis has set four world records in his short career and keeps on improving, jump by jump.

“To break the world record two times in two weeks, I can’t complain. There’re no limits. The sky’s the limit. Going over 6.20M for the first time – it’s hard to explain. It’s something that you can only dream of,” said Duplantis.
While Yelena Isinbayeva is arguably the greatest women’s pole vaulter of all time and dominated the field events, Duplantis is on his way to becoming the best. He is a talented boy from Sweden who continues to raise expectations for himself, as well as, the fans.
