Iowa State Cyclones Wrestling teams have always succeeded in storming social media. The primary reason behind their success is the exceptional moves showcased on the wrestling mat. In the Cliff Keen Vegas Wrestling Invitational Championship, team Iowa State overcame pressure from the top 10 teams.
Interestingly, the Cyclones finished the finals of CKLV, giving intense competition to No.2 NC State and No. 6 Cornell. No. 9 Nebraska, No. 7 Michigan and No. 10 Virginia Tech. This made the Cyclones pass with flying colors in the recent championship and helped them shatter a 26-year drought.

Today, Evan Frost, or the redshirt, was 4-0 at the CKLV season. Evan recorded the biggest win of his career at the showdown by defeating the No.8 Brody Teske in the Dual. However, Evan was defeated in the finals by NC State’s Kai Orine, who is the Number 5 ranked wrestler. Despite falling short at the final showdown, Evans is a crucial contributor to Iowa State’s recent success.

Yonger Bastida kick-started the season with a dominant weekend. He was at 4-0 as he cemented himself as the country’s elite heavyweight wrestler. Bastida won the match 5-3 in the finals by defeating the Michigan wrestling team’s Lucas Davison. Therefore, Bastida ended the weekend perfectly while contributing the most to Iowa State’s success.

Interestingly, bonus points across the games have fueled Iowa State’s first-place finish at the Cliff Keen Vegas Wrestling Invitational Championship.
