The world has been sent into an abrupt state of shock at the moment with an unfortunate piece of news, as ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry met an untimely demise. The icon who played the iconic character of Chandler Bing was found in a Los Angeles home after an alarm was raised.

The first responders rushed to the scene after receiving the call and discovered Matthew Perry in his jacuzzi. The news comes crashing down on millions of fans around the world who adored the brilliant actor. Renowned wrestling analyst Justin Basch also joined Perry’s fandom as he posted about the unfortunate news on his social media page.

Matthew Perry was discovered in his home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles by the authorities. He was found in the state after 4:00 PM on 28 October 2023. The police report that Matthew Perry passed away due to apparent drowning.

The actor was found in a jacuzzi at the home and the first responders rushed over after an alarm call was made for a suspected cardiac arrest. Following the news, millions of fans paid  their sincere tributes to the actor and expressed their unfeigned eulogies for the icon.

Wrestling analyst Justin Basch also tweeted the “terrible” news on his X account and mourned the tragic loss of the actor.

So far, no foul play has been found and, as per the report of TMZ, as investigation for further developments is still underway. However, following the tragic news of Perry’s untimely demise, the world remembers the bequest he left behind through his iconic role of Chandler Bing and touched the lives of millions.

The actor who made everyone laugh and dominated the ’90s

Matthew Perry was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada, before moving to Los Angeles in his teenage years. The actor featured in several small roles in multiple shows and later gained more traction. However, his biggest break arrived in 1994 when he starred in the NBC sitcom ‘Friends’ as Chandler Bing.

Going through everyday chaos and fun events with five more friends, Bing’s character made millions of people laugh. Matthew Perry became extremely famous for playing the quick-witted and sarcastic character. In the 2004 book ‘Friends…Till the End’, Perry talked about his iconic role and stated, “I was 24 when I got on the show. I’ll be 34 when it’s over, and those are really important years in somebody’s life. So do it all in public…was difficult. At first you have the wave of I’m famous and this is exactly what I wanted my whole life.

He further added, “But then you go through the whole recluse stage where you think, ‘I wish everybody would stop staring at me.’ And then you eventually, hopefully, get through all that. You find things in your life that are grounding, like your family and good friends.

Perry and the show dominated the 1990s, with the show grossing millions of sales and fans worldwide. Perry even received an Emmy nomination in 2002 for playing Bing across 10 seasons. The star later founded a sober living facility for men named Perry House. While Matthew Perry left this world for his heavenly abode leaving million to ponder over his legacy, the immortal Chandler Bing will forever be a part of everyone’s lives.
