Back in 2021, Gretzky was seen enjoying the sport, in a video shared by the official Twitter account of the NHL. “There’s nothing Wayne Gretzky can’t do…”, said the post. The tweet divided fans, with critics lashing at the Great One for not being able to coach in the NHL.

Eight months ago, the National Lacrosse League (NLL) added its 15th expansion team in Las Vegas, known as the Desert Dogs. This team’s investors were none other than the Great One, alongside his daughter’s husband, and pro golfer Dustin Johnson. They were also joined by co-investors Steve Nash and Joe Tsai, who are helping them with their venture.
