Even the soccer star reciprocates the affection, evident with her comments like, “Ur everything… forever obsession… my man.” Mind you, it’s only been a few months, yet it feels as if they’ve been together forever. And as they say, true love stands the test of time; who would have thought that this would already be apparent at the very start of their love story?

It’s no secret how much Trinity Rodman has been struggling in terms of injuries. Months ago, her back situation was so grueling that the 23-year-old was forced to step back from any kind of action, permanently focusing on her healing, even flying to London for the necessary treatment. In such moments, as much as one tries to avoid taking this professional setback completely over their life, eventually, it does end up affecting their personal lives. Such was the case with Trin, but luckily, Ben Shelton stepped up as always, being there for her beloved girlfriend.

“I would say Ben was huge in that support,” Rodman said in her latest talk with Sam Mewis on The Women’s Game podcast, when quizzed about her support system during such a tough time. “And it was so funny cause it was the start of our relationship. Rough, rough timing for Ben.” To be fair, it was. Their love story began with a soft launch that quickly turned into a hard launch, sparked by a TikTok trend earlier this year.

Puppy love, as they say. And imagine a boyfriend navigating the mixed emotions of a partner he had just started getting to know. Rodman herself admitted that it was one of the “hardest times” of her life. “We were actually talking about that the other day, like ‘Dang, that was rough.’ I’m really happy we made it out of that…” added the Washington Spirit forward.

Talk about Shelton solving problems like he does on the tennis court. Trinity Rodman revealed how much her boyfriend supported her during a particularly tough period. A relatable feeling; one hand being injured, seeing teammates play while she had to wait for her own rehab and treatments. Imagine the kind of emotionally draining process it would have been, let alone nursing the physical pain first.

However, the Newport Beach native insisted that being with Shelton allowed her to stay connected to the competitive environment without the pressure of constantly wanting to be on the field, further helping her find balance and cope with the challenges.

“He kind of just gets it, understands me, and dealt with my psychotic behaviors because I was just like this [Up-down gesture] every day, and I’m just very happy that he was there for me and that I’ve made it out,” concluded the USWNT star.

Boy, are we sensing that two are indeed a match made in heaven, considering that Trinity Rodman, too, has done her part perfectly.
