When it comes to racing, there will always be a Scandinavian driver in the mix. But the most popular racing form for them is rallying. Even drivers like Kimi Raikkonen, Mika Hakkinen and Valtteri Bottas, rallying is second nature for them.
Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas has vowed to make 2019 his best season yet, and in preparation, the Finn will be participating in the Arctic Rally. A new adventure for the 29-year-old. Finnish rallying co-pilot Timo Rautiainen, who won two WRC championships with Marcus Grönholm, shows some footage of his new partner!
This young Finnish #F1 star, @ValtteriBottas really has a steep learning curve in rallying! First tests with a proper #WRC and it goes very well! I enjoy co-driving him 👍#ArcticLaplandRally @MSportLtd @RalliSM @OfficialWRC #flyingfinn pic.twitter.com/fEdVBvA02N

Hopefully for the Finn’s sake, his exceptional rallying skills translates onto his F1 skills. Otherwise, he could be in for a tough time at Mercedes and teammate Lewis Hamilton. There is also the threat of reserve driver, Esteban Ocon taking his seat for 2020 and beyond.
