Another day, another Aaron Rodgers appreciation post. At 36, Rodgers has shown incredible character which only reiterates his status as an ‘All-time great’. Critics predicted that Rodgers would be hostile towards new acquisition Jordan Love in the offseason but they were wrong.
A-Rod has taken the former Utah State man under his wing. Videos from earlier this week show Rodgers guiding Love during throwing drills. It is obvious that Love has a long way to go if he wants to take over from Rodgers at Lambeau Field. But credit must be given to Rodgers for his role in helping Love feel at home amidst all the uncertainty surrounding his arrival.

Aaron Rodgers doesn’t need to mentor Jordan Love, says Riddick
On the most recent installment of ESPN’s Get Up, host Mike Greenberg was joined by Louis Riddick, Mark Sanchez, and Jeff Darlington. The panel was talking about how Aaron Rodgers has taken Jordan Love under his wing amidst preseason training.

“I’m seeing tremendous maturity on the part of Aaron Rodgers. I’m seeing someone who understands his place, both with the Packers and in the NFL overall in terms of how he’s going to be viewed historically. He’s one of the greatest to play the game.”

“Veterans aren’t required to groom anybody. It’s not in your contract to groom your successor. Coaches don’t come up to you and say ‘Hey, you have to groom this guy who we drafted or brought in to take your spot’. You do that if you want to…..I think what we’re seeing from him is a level of maturity that is surprising many people and taking many people aback. Especially considering what his initial reaction was,” Riddick said on the show.

Rodgers has been terrific over the last two NFL seasons. He’s thrown for 4,000+ yards for two consecutive years now. He will definitely start the 2020 season as the first-choice quarterback under head coach Matt LaFleur. The Packers start their 2020 NFL campaign with an away game against Minnesota Vikings on September 13, 2020.
