Vettel might not have won the championship, but he definitely will win the team radio of the year award, if that’s any consolation.

Even if the drivers championship is over, the constructors championship is still on with Ferrari trailing the Mercedes team by a mere 55 points. If they can outscore Mercedes by 13 points in Brazil, the constructors fight will be extended to Abu Dhabi or else it’ll be over by Sunday itself.

Despite losing the drivers championship, Ferrari will be hoping for something miraculous happening to the two Mercedes this race and the next because the Silver Arrows have showcased pretty good consistency this season. Not just the cars, both the drivers have been consistent as well, which is why they stand where they stand.

FP1 and FP2 had the Ferraris off the pace from the pace setters. Max Verstappen topped Free Practice 1 with Vettel second and Lewis Hamilton third. Ricciardo was fourth and Bottas fifth. In Free Practice 2, Bottas put the Silver Arrows back on the top. Hamilton finished second, just ahead of Sebastian Vettel in third followed by the Red Bulls of Ricciardo and Verstappen behind in fourth and fifth.

Since 2014, there has always been a Mercedes at the pole position in Brazil. Can Vettel or Raikkonen do something special to have the Scuderia on top this time around?
