Stars are indeed just like us – or so it may seem when they are part of a passionate fanbase. Despite the fame and fortune of the big leagues, it is hard not to fall for the thrill and adrenaline that only sports can provide. While we have seen numerous famous personalities gush over sports teams or stars, there’s always a new revelation on the horizon. Today’s revelation comes from ‘Night At The Museum’ star Ben Stiller, who has long been a passionate cycling fan.

However, even Stiller, a multi-millionaire movie star, was reduced to feeling enthused like a dew-eyed fan at exciting cycling updates. He showed this enthusiasm to the news that Mark Cavendish will indeed ride one more season with Astana in 2024.

The record Cavendish is chasing belongs to one Eddy Merckx, who set it in 1969. Mark Cavendish was already on the verge of setting a new record if not for a crash on stage 8 in 2023. However, while the crash seemingly put an end to Cavendish’s career initially, the 38-year-old is set to return for at least another year. No wonder, Stiller, and every other cycling fan, is waiting with bated breath to see what happens next.

Still has also proven to be a big Geraint Thomas fan. From his cycling to his dad jokes on Twitter, the actor is absolutely floored by the Welsh Tour de France winner. In fact, Stiller replied to one Thomas joke on Twitter, saying, “Not afraid to do edgy material. All the more reason to be a fan.”

Cavendish is on the cusp of a very big achievement and most fans can’t keep cool until it happens. He is on level ground with Eddy Merckx – one will is all that stands between Cavendish and his destiny. However, the 38-year-old is also returning after a long spell on the sidelines. So, it’s a wonder whether he still has what it takes to keep up with the young riders.
As for Stiller, it’s interesting to get his take on the situation. The 57-year-old will always be tied to the world of cycling, even if it is for featuring Lance Armstrong in his movie. That’s right Armstrong and Stiller will always be cosmically connected by the ex-cyclist’s appearance in ‘Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story,’ produced by Stiller himself. Every fan is excited for what’s to come. Why would it be any different for Stiller? Write to us below with your favorite Ben Stiller flick.
