The rescue operation of the abducted cyclist

A fun and happening holiday immediately transformed into a catastrophe when 9-year-old, Charlotte Sena disappeared on a Saturday evening at around 6:15 p.m. Since the park covers an extensive area, it is divided into different loops circling the lake and it was around Loop A that Charlotte was last seen on a solo bike ride during the sunset after spending the whole day with her friends.

According to the investigators, it has been presumed that Charlotte was either pulled into a vehicle or dragged into the woods by the abductor. Followed by exhausting search operations and investigation, Craig Ross Jr., the 47-year-old alleged kidnapper was arrested. On putting a ransom note through the family postbox of Charlotte, the suspect left a trace allowing the authorities to track and eventually arrest him.

From the ransom note, fingerprints were retrieved that gave a clue of Craig’s DNA charging him for first-degree kidnapping. When the convict was found out by the authorities, he was residing in a trailer stalled on a property, belonging to his mother in Milton, New York.

Craig is now under the charge of the police authorities and is being held for questioning to trace out the details that led him to abduct the little girl and to find out the blueprint of the whole abducting action. Although there have been erroneous reports circulating in the media, he is not a registered sex offender.

The safe recovery of Charlotte proves to be evidence of the joint and collected efforts of the community and the law enforcement agencies. However, the unfortunate incidents shed light on the lack of vigilance and vulnerabilities of the security system that surrounds the area.
