The people of Belgium love their cycling. They celebrate the sport, and sport persons involved all over the country and enjoy a great following. Lotte Kopecky, the Belgian cycling superstar, has had an incredible 2023, and winning 3 major tournaments and securing a second place in another.

She won the Omloop Hey Nieuwsblad, the Tour of Flanders and the UCI Road World Championships. She bagged the second place at the Tour de France Femmes and capped what was a brilliant year for her.

In order to celebrate her astounding success, her team sponsors decided to organise a fan day. The event had another goal in mind, to promote and encourage more people to take up cycling, especially women.

A heartfelt and wholesome video has emerged from the day of celebration. It showed the Belgian cycling superstar waving to a bunch of her fans, who were riding a beer bus. They shouted her name, and she ran across to their bus and completely made their day.

There was an empty seat on the bus and she hopped on. They gave her a beer, and she posed for some photos with her lovely fans. It was truly a lovely moment where her fans got to share a laugh and bond with her.

Speaking to the media ahead of the fun filled day of celebration, a member of the Team SD Worx said, “With the initiative, the three parties and Lotte Kopecky hope to inspire young girls to also start cycling. Because a higher intake ensures sustainable growth of women’s cycling in the long term,”

Lotte Kopecky too hoped that her stellar performance inspired a number of women and children to believe that there is nothing that they can’t do. She too had something to say during the fan day celebration in Belgium and delivered her heartfelt gratitude for the love.

“Belgium is a great cycling nation, but the women always limped along behind…I hope I made everyone proud. And that I have been able to inspire a lot of young girls.”

The fan day, organized by several of her sponsors; SD Worx, Cycling Vlaanderen and Flemish Cycling School was a tremendous success. Hopefully, it inspired several other women and young girls to take on the sport and carve their names in history.
