The 24-year-old American rapper, Latto after seizing the Grammy Award in 2023 along with a total of two Grammy nominations has made it again to the headline. However, this time, she has come to the limelight, not for her melodic rap performance.

Latto’s homecoming leaves a deep mark

Formerly known as Mulatto, the renowned artist made a visit to her alma mater, Lovejoy High School in Clayton County, Georgia. The homecoming celebration of the school was elevated with the participation of one of their notable alumnus. Her association with the cheerleaders treated them with food from a fast food joint and even gladly took part in the TikTok video made by the homecoming queen.

Apart from the students and staff, Latto thoroughly enjoyed her homecoming. As reported by Fox5Atlanta, the rapper even shared her experience on social media saying, “It’s always good to show love to where you come from.”

Till then it was restricted to the craze of the students and staff around their favorite celebrity alumnus who apart from being in the entertainment industry launched a non-profit organization named Win Some Give Some. However, the zest of the program elevated during the football game when she took the initiative to make a donation.

Originally known as Alyssa Michelle Stephens, Latto is sincere about her obligations towards society and runs the NGO supporting young women financially acting as a support as they proceed ahead in their respective lives to achieve success. But for her school, she is often associated with her celebrity titles and it was in the football game that she revealed her philanthropic side.

The “Big Energy” performer at the culmination of the football game granted $35,000 in donation amount. The picture, capturing the precious moment of the celebrated alumnus with the current cheerleading shows a student holding the check confirming the hefty amount. In the lower right-hand corner of the giant check, there is the signature showing “Big Latto” while the pay to the order of section bears the name of Lovejoy High School.

Spreading love and joy making the homecoming to be remembered forever

In the comment section, the American rapper has acquired mixed reactions, even though the amount of praise surpassed criticism.  Many fans poured in their reaction in the comment section of the Twitter post. One user commented, “That’s so nice. They can fund many graduations proms or field trips if they manage the money correctly. That’s great” while the other said, “GENEROUS QUEEN!!!!!!”  

One of the fans even took Latto’s stand stating no matter what the amount is the initiative is what matters, “people saying that’s it ? & y’all haven’t even donated $1….” Even though she has received derogatory comments like “She bankrupt now”,  she received praises that surpassed all the negative comments she received on the iniative and effort she made for the betterment of the community at large including “The ppl hating couldn’t even donate 35 bucks if they wanted too”.

Being a part of the homecoming event at her school along with her generous donation reveals Latto’s commitment to her community. This move was a gesture of honor appreciating her journey from being a student of Lovejoy High School to stardom.
